walking the shoreline with his teddiursa, the man would soak up the sun quietly while the cub tended to assisting shorebound pokemon back into the water.

most of them weren’t cute and he didn’t want to touch them, but the teddiursa was happy to make friends and play nice with them for the brief moment it could before placing them back into the water, giving them a friendly parting.

kim would watch with a smile as his son enjoyed his day out on the beach, but would quickly turn to look around, seeing if his partner had arrived yet.

Cleaning up the beach wasn't exactly the kind of thing Ben thought he'd be doing when he joined up with the league, he thought he'd be thrown right into the fray and go head to head with team rocket people already. While he was here though he might as well help out however he could huh? Maybe if more people did whatever they could then Kanto wouldn't of fallen to team rocket and he wouldn't even be here in the first place.

Stepping onto the beach with his Kangaskhan walking behind him Ben nodded his head towards some of the beached pokemon, instructing the Kangaskhan to go help out. Quietly walking over to some of the beached pokemon Kangaskhan started to pick them up and carry them back to the water. While her trainer went to meet the other league member he was supposed to be helping.

Approaching the other man on the beach whose teddiursa was also helping the beached pokemon out. With a quick nod of his head Ben approached the other guy, blurting out a simple greeting of "Hey, im Ben. Nice to meet ya."

“what an ugly man.”

was his first thought upon seeing the stranger. the closer he got the worse his thoughts got.

eyepatch, shit fashion, bad hair, the list only got longer and longer as he hot closer, hoping the man would pass. it was only when he spotted the kangaskhan that was previously tossing pokemon into the water come to stand next to him. the only conclusion made being this was his partner.

when the other man opened his mouth, another check was made on the list of negatives pointed out.

“kim.” would be his only response, sending a small smile his way.

The guy who was supposed to be Ben's partner for this insanely important mission seemed to be extremely talkative, judging from their introductory interaction this would surely be a very insightful and deep encounter. Taking a brief moment to glance around the beach, mainly using it as an excuse to roll his eye when his head was turned away from the other man on the mission with him Ben ended up looking over at his Kangaskhan again. The large motherly pokemon was still gently helping beached pokemon back into the water.

Hopefully this mission wouldn't take too long. Not that Ben held any ill feelings towards the guy on the mission with him aside from how little the other guy seemed to be speaking, he just thought that his time could be used better elsewhere. Doing something more important then just cleaning up the beach.

Without any words on his own part this time Ben simply pulled a plastic bag out of his own backpack, placing bits of trash near where he was standing inside of the plastic bag. If they had to clean up he'd at least do a damn good job of it.

at least he wasn't trying to force conversation on him as he did his appearance, and from that, an appreciation is formed.

he'd turn to the teddiursa, it quickly helping a pokemon into the water not too far back and then running to catch up to its trainer who seemed to acquire a very... strange looking companion by his side. he wanted to walk with kim and try to be friendly but the look of the man somewhat scared the cub. instead, the baby bear would waddle over to the kangashan waving up to it with a smile.

kim would look over his shoulder, smiling then quickly turning to his companion who has brought out a doggy bag and began to pick up trash. that wasn't their job, but if he wants to do it who was he to stop him.

This was still literally the worst job ever that Ben could think of. They were supposed to be out there stopping criminals and protecting pokemon from threats not pushing water types back into the water. The league could just have civilians or something take care of it, or just send a pokemon to do it.

Still a bit butt hurt about the job Ben just stayed silent as he picked up trash.

Kangaskhan on the other hand seemed to make a new friend in the other league member's teddiursa, waving a hand back at the little bear the large pokemon smiled down at it. Before thinking for a moment and letting the baby kangaskhan out of her pouch to go play with the Teddiursa, she had seen the other pokemon with the other league guy so she felt her kid would be decently safe playing with the little bear.
